Hey there, winter adventurers! ❄️ Today, we're taking you on a frosty journey to The Lakes Region's go-to spot for ice-skating bliss – our beloved "Blades of Glory." Get ready to glide into a world of enchantment, where chilly landscapes and the thrill of skating await. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a first-time skater, join us as we unravel the magic of The Lakes Region's premier ice skating oasis. Ready to lace up? Let's dive into the frosty fun!

Pop Whalen Ice & Arts Center

    Wolfeboro

Looking for the coolest spot in The Lakes Region to unleash your inner ice maestro? Look no further than Pop Whalen Ice & Arts Center! This frosty haven, operated by the Town of Wolfeboro, isn't just a rink; it's a community of winter warriors, hockey enthusiasts, and those who simply love a good glide.

From Back Bay Youth Hockey to Lakes Region Curling League, Pop Whalen hosts them all. It's the go-to spot for Kingswood High School, Brewster Academy, and even the legendary Co-Ed League – because why should guys have all the fun?

Lap skating, stick practice, public skating – you name it, they've got it. Pop Whalen is the beating heart of Wolfeboro Parks and Recreation's icy adventures.

But hey, for now, the ice is catching its breath until the 2023 spring and summer shenanigans kick in. Keep an eye on their website for the lowdown on programming and events!

Ready to lace up? Dive into the winter wonder at Pop Whalen Ice & Arts Center! For more scoop, twirl over to their website , and don't forget to follow the frosty fun on Facebook and Instagram . Let the skating saga begin!

    Moultonborough Ice Rink

    Moultonborough

Looking for a frosty escape in the heart of the Lakes Region? Look no further than Moultonborough's Ice Rink at Kraine Meadow Park– home to the coolest (literally!) spot in town, the Moultonborough Ice Rink.

This rink is your icy playground, a place to skate at your own pace, unleash your inner ice ninja, and maybe even attempt a triple axel (at your own risk, of course!). It's a "Skate at Your Own Risk" kind of vibe, but don't worry, the Recreation Department pros and the trusty rink volunteers are the ice marshals ensuring everyone's winter wonderland stays drama-free.

Open Skate is your daily invitation to glide into happiness, but beware, the rink is divvied up when sticks and pucks join the party. No worries, it's all in the name of icy harmony. And when the Free Skate Schedule lights up, it's time to leave the sticks at home and let the figure skaters shine.

The rink closes its frosty gates at 10 pm daily, so make the most of those moonlit spins before the Zamboni calls it a night.

Events are in the pipeline, so keep your eyes peeled for updates on what winter magic is brewing at Moultonborough Ice Rink!

    Merrill Fay Arena

    Laconia

In the heart of Laconia, the Merrill Fay Arena stands tall and proud, not just as an ice rink but as a frozen epicenter of community spirit. Established in 1997 and renamed in 2016 to honor Merrill P. Fay, the mastermind behind the Winnipesaukee Skating Club, this non-profit gem is where winter magic comes alive.

Home to the Lakes Region Lakers Youth Hockey, the New England Wolves, Belmont-Gilford High School, Laconia-Winnisquam/Inter-Lakes High School, and a flurry of adult and women's leagues, Merrill Fay Arena isn't just an ice rink; it's a hub of hockey glory!

Lace-up for daily public skating sessions and twirl your way through the icy wonderland they've crafted for us mere mortals.

Curious to know more about the skating saga at Merrill Fay Arena? Visit their website  for all the deets. For real-time frosty updates and glimpses of the action, check out their Facebook . Let the winter adventures begin!

    Gilford Ice Rink

    Gilford

Brace yourself, Gilford – the Arthur A. Tilton Ice Rink is here to turn your winter into a frosty fiesta! Open daily from dawn till dusk, this icy oasis operates its magic from late December through early March, weather permitting.

Glide into the day with open skating from dawn to 10:00 am, where every twirl feels like a winter waltz. Got a budding hockey pro under 13? Stick and Puck time from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm has them covered. Open skating takes the reins again from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm – because why should mornings have all the fun? Wrapping up the day is Stick and Puck for ages 14 and up, starting from 3:30 pm till the sun bids adieu.

But wait, there's more! The schedule is like winter itself – subject to change. So, keep an eye out for any delightful surprises the Parks and Recreation Department might toss your way.

Brie has always been a devoted enthusiast of the Lake Life lifestyle, with an unwavering passion for New Hampshire and its charming Lakes Region. She thrives in this dynamic, ever-evolving environment and considers herself fortunate to have spent her formative years along the shores of Lake Kanasatka in Moultonborough before embarking on her journey to Lake Winnipesaukee. Brie's early exposure to these pristine lakes ignited her fascination with real estate, setting her on a path of discovery that began as a young teenager. At just 13 years old, she was already cruising Lake Winnipesaukee aboard her Boston Whaler, armed with a camera and real estate magazines, on a mission to study and compare homes. Her family's roots in the region trace back to the 1800s, further deepening her connection to this beautiful area. But it's not just the real estate that captivates Brie; it's the water itself. Her favorite summer pastime is immersing herself in the water and indulging in water sports. Brie's passion for wake surfing is well-known, and she often extends invitations to others to join her on her boat, where she imparts her expertise and shares the joy of cruising Lake Winnipesaukee. As the captain of her vessel, she now cherishes the experience of passing on this love for the water to her daughter, Summer Stephens, all while their loyal golden retriever, Braun, enjoys the wind's embrace from the bow. In Moultonborough, Brie is deeply engaged within her community. She dedicates herself to showcasing local businesses and highlights her husband's company, Stephens Landscaping, and its remarkable projects throughout the lakes and mountains. As a member of the NH & Lakes Region Home Builders Association, she holds the role of Vice President of Affiliates on the Executive Board and has co-chaired their annual Parade of Homes event for seven consecutive years. Brie has also served as a public official on the Town of Moultonborough's Planning Board for three years and sits as a board member for the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce. Notably, Brie's Client Choice Charity Program reflects her commitment to giving back. She pledges a portion of every real estate commission to a charity of her clients' choice, demonstrating her dedication to enriching the Lakes and Mountains of Central New Hampshire, both personally and philanthropically. In every aspect of her life, Brie embodies the spirit of living, loving, excelling, and generously giving back to her cherished community.
