    DIY Leaf Printing July 17th

Friday July 17th 10a-12pm| Squam Lakes Association | 534 US Route 3, Holderness

Ever wanted to design your own clothes? Love to tie dye?  Do you love floral and leaf patterns?  Interested in learning about fast fashion?  Well have we got a program for you!  Join LRCC member Maggy in a leaf printing workshop. We will be using leaves, flowers, and whatever natural textures you’d like to bleach print old clothing.  Think of it as a stamp; paint the bleach onto the leaf, press it down for a few moments, and let the print develop!  This works best for cotton clothing, but denim will also work.  While we design our shirts, we will also discuss the environmental benefits of second hand shopping and why fast fashion is not a sustainable or environmentally friendly industry and how you can make an impact. Audience: This program is for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. What to Bring: We ask that you please bring your own clothing, Soft Scrub, leaves/flowers and paint brushes so that we can keep contact points to a minimum.  Please also bring a face mask to be worn if we cannot maintain a distance of 6 feet or more.Location: Squam Lakes Association, located at 534 US Rt. 3 in Holderness. Registration: Registration is required. Space is limited to 6 people so that appropriate social distancing can be observed between the LRCC members and participants.

Squam Canoe Class: Bass Fishing Tournament July 18th

    Saturday July 18th 8am-1pm | Squam Lakes Association | 534 US Route 3 Holderness

The SLA is excited to announce our Sixth Annual Squam Canoe Classic! This is a very approachable bass tournament experience with plenty of good-natured sportsmanship to go around. The Squam Canoe Classic is all about the love of the lake, having a great time on the water and landing the big one. We are continuing to partner with Eastern Adaptive Sports (EAS) to provide a quiet water fishing experience, allowing adaptive anglers the opportunity to fully participate in the event. For individuals in need of adaptive access, please indicate this requirement upon registration.  Here is your opportunity to test your skills in a laid back way and to introduce beginner anglers to the art and pleasure of recreational fishing. Load up the canoe, kayak, float tube or any style of human powered watercraft and head out for an afternoon of timeless moments on the water. Quietly ease up to that favorite fishing hole and use all your skill and cunning to hook yourself a winner! All registrants must pick up an information packet before the start of the tournament. On July 1st we will place the information packets in a box labeled Bass Tournament on the front entry way at the SLA.All adaptive registrants can register online and then obtain this packet at River Edge Marina, Ashland, NH, or contact Geoff Krill at [email protected]. This two tournament series is a motorless event and will be open to any vessel that’s completely human powered. Participants will fish with lead-free tackle only. This event will be a catch and immediate release tournament. After landing the big one, anglers will document their catch by weighing, measuring and taking a photo then releasing the fish back into the deep where the legend can swim on. Some ambitious anglers may pour over the charts and carefully plan out their paddle route, while others will point the bow, pull on the paddle and follow their instincts. There will be a total of two tournaments in the series. Anyone can participate in one, or sign up for both!

Brie has always been a devoted enthusiast of the Lake Life lifestyle, with an unwavering passion for New Hampshire and its charming Lakes Region. She thrives in this dynamic, ever-evolving environment and considers herself fortunate to have spent her formative years along the shores of Lake Kanasatka in Moultonborough before embarking on her journey to Lake Winnipesaukee. Brie's early exposure to these pristine lakes ignited her fascination with real estate, setting her on a path of discovery that began as a young teenager. At just 13 years old, she was already cruising Lake Winnipesaukee aboard her Boston Whaler, armed with a camera and real estate magazines, on a mission to study and compare homes. Her family's roots in the region trace back to the 1800s, further deepening her connection to this beautiful area. But it's not just the real estate that captivates Brie; it's the water itself. Her favorite summer pastime is immersing herself in the water and indulging in water sports. Brie's passion for wake surfing is well-known, and she often extends invitations to others to join her on her boat, where she imparts her expertise and shares the joy of cruising Lake Winnipesaukee. As the captain of her vessel, she now cherishes the experience of passing on this love for the water to her daughter, Summer Stephens, all while their loyal golden retriever, Braun, enjoys the wind's embrace from the bow. In Moultonborough, Brie is deeply engaged within her community. She dedicates herself to showcasing local businesses and highlights her husband's company, Stephens Landscaping, and its remarkable projects throughout the lakes and mountains. As a member of the NH & Lakes Region Home Builders Association, she holds the role of Vice President of Affiliates on the Executive Board and has co-chaired their annual Parade of Homes event for seven consecutive years. Brie has also served as a public official on the Town of Moultonborough's Planning Board for three years and sits as a board member for the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce. Notably, Brie's Client Choice Charity Program reflects her commitment to giving back. She pledges a portion of every real estate commission to a charity of her clients' choice, demonstrating her dedication to enriching the Lakes and Mountains of Central New Hampshire, both personally and philanthropically. In every aspect of her life, Brie embodies the spirit of living, loving, excelling, and generously giving back to her cherished community.
