Learn something sweet this winter at Prescott Farm’s Tap into Maple program! Experience the time-honored New England tradition of maple sugaring with a hands-on adventure from tree to table.
Participants will:🌳 Identify and measure trees to determine the best ones to tap🪓 Explore both historical and modern tapping tools📖 Learn the history of maple sugaring, including Native American legends🧪 Discover the math and science behind boiling sap into syrup🍁 Taste delicious, fresh maple syrup
The program includes approximately a 1-mile walk to and from the Sugar House, with uneven terrain and an uphill return. Please dress warmly and wear boots. Snowshoes or traction cleats will be provided as needed (feel free to bring your own).
Additional 2026 program dates include:
- Tuesday, February 17 (10 AM–12 PM)
- Saturday programs in March (10 AM–2 PM with sessions starting hourly)
- Accessible programs available every Saturday from 10–11 AM

- Teams of 3 people (2 pullers + 1 rider)
- Dash 25 yards while pulling a teammate on a sled with a rope
- Each puller then spins around a wiffle bat 5 times
- Race back to the finish line — fastest team advances!
- Bracket-style competition with heats leading to a champion
🏆 Prizes Awarded For:
- 1st Place
- 2nd Place
- 3rd Place
- Most Creative Wear
